Buy wool
All woolcake wool is spun from sheep that live in Somerset, due to our commitment to sustainability, our wool is only spun in small batches and the product may change from time to time.
Slide across the image above to identify our different wools and colours. Each batch of wool is named, this refers to the farmer who has bred the sheep, in some cases we know our sheep so well that it is the individual name.

Please note
- We recommend hand washing only for all our yarns, a hand wash facility on a washing machine is also fine.
- All wool comes in 100g hanks, it knits up on 7mm to 10mm needles depending on stitch and pattern. It is suitable for all patterns for ‘chunky’ or ‘bulky’ wool. Always remember to check the tension first.
- Our wool is the product of ethical trading with somerset sheep farmers, we do not use dyes, the colours available represent the fleece available each year, make sure that you order enough wool to complete your knitting project.
- All orders are sent via First Class post for a delivery charge of £4.50.
- An additional £5 charge is payable for all orders outside the UK.
- There are some terms & conditions that apply when you buy things from the website.
